Native Sons

Bigger is not the brightest person but does make very poor decisions in times of stress. What he did to Mary and Bessie is inexcusable and he deserves to be punished. His actions are out of self preservation have no regard for the repercussions. It lead him to murder two people and feel hardly any remorse in fact feeling empowered. Empowered to the point of wanting to start a violent uprising in  a way to justify a crime and to search for strength. My belief is that in the deaths of these two people in Bigger's eyes were completely justified, even though they were selfish acts of murder. In this certain dilemma Bigger in many ways deserves a maximum sentence of prison,  not death because he really needs to see the wrong he did and what happens because of it.
